Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup butter, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¾ cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Add softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar to a bowl.
- Beat until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract.
- Mix until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Refrigerate the dough for about 20–30 minutes for thicker cookies.
- Scoop small portions onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Leave enough space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes.
- Remove when the edges are lightly golden but the centers still look slightly soft.
- Let them cool on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
Tip: Don’t overbake them. They will continue cooking slightly after coming out of the oven.
